- Our History -
BIO LAND INVESTMENT Ltd. was founded 13 years ago and serves as an example of how traditional agricultural practices can be transformed by integrating, on the one hand, modern technologies, and on the other, well-forgotten farming methods from both the recent and distant past.
BIO LAND INVESTMENT Ltd. began its journey as a small company focused on producing liquid bio-fertilizer from Californian red worms. A year later, the company expanded into cultivating, managing, and processing agricultural land. Over time, the business grew, and today it manages approximately 6,500 decares of farmland along the border between the towns of Marten and Ruse. Although its primary focus remains on traditional grain crops, in response to climate change, the company has made a significant step forward in the past two to three years by introducing Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) into its portfolio.

One of the most remarkable characteristics of BIO LAND INVESTMENT Ltd. is its continuous pursuit of innovation and improvement in agricultural practices, with a strong emphasis on sustainable land management. We follow the principle: "We cultivate the land, and the land cultivates the plants." Our company not only keeps up with modern agricultural trends but also seeks out, applies, and actively develops old farming techniques that have been abandoned by contemporary grain production, adapting them to current conditions in Bulgaria. We use the latest technologies and methodologies to enable more efficient and sustainable resource management.
The implementation of precision agriculture allows BIO LAND INVESTMENT Ltd. to optimize the use of water and fertilizers while minimizing the use of pesticides and insecticides. By utilizing drones, irrigation-sensor installations, weather stations, and other advanced technologies, we can monitor soil and crop conditions in real time. This enables better planning and resource management, reducing costs and minimizing environmental impact.
The cultivation of Milk Thistle is another innovation - one that revives a forgotten tradition and deserves attention. This plant is known for its medicinal properties and high content of silymarin, a compound with powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Including Milk Thistle in the product range of BIO LAND INVESTMENT Ltd. is the result of extensive research aimed at discovering new, valuable crops that can thrive in Bulgaria’s evolving climate conditions. The unique soil composition along the Danube River contributes to a significantly higher silymarin concentration compared to imports from countries like China, Ukraine, and others.
The company invests substantial resources in research and development, and we are currently establishing a permaculture farm to ensure that our production meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
